The challenge
Give an existing parent identity a consistent language across digital and physical applications.
The Signal System.

An existing parent identity: a modular three-block symbol, web signature, type and material language, and a family of identity applications.
Give an existing parent identity a consistent language across digital and physical applications.
A square can repeat. A grid can organize. A single accent can connect one application to the next. The DOC N.I.L. system brings those simple ideas into a more complete visual language.
Internal brand presentation. Application boards are supplied design studies, not claims of manufactured inventory. Proportion overlays are exploratory comparisons, not historical construction claims.
A connected presentation of the symbol, typography, material language and identity applications.
The supplied dotted symbol has three equal square blocks. Each block is 108 source units wide; the 18-unit gap is one sixth of that width. Before the web reference’s rotation, the three blocks occupy a 234 × 234-unit envelope.
The aligned module frames describe the actual web reference. The Fibonacci rectangle and spiral sit alongside them as a separate, exploratory proportion study.
Type, material, uniforms, packaging and partner-facing applications take the identity into different settings. The signal stays connected as its expression changes.
The supplied boards make the system concrete: a stacked signature and type specimen, an industrial material language, and a family of connected applications.
Move through the individual plates, from type and material to partner experience, uniforms, merchandise, packaging and access.
